Two NSW Universities feature in this year’s QS Top 50 Under 50

The latest Quacquarelli Symonds (QS) University Rankings: QS Top 50 Under 50 2015 has been released and includes two universities from New South Wales (NSW).

Congratulations to the University of Technology Sydney (UTS) ranked at 14 overall globally, up from a ranking of 21 last year, and the University of Wollongong (UOW), ranked 17 globally, up from a ranking of 26 in 2014!

The QS rankings are a rigorous and independent source of global intelligence on the higher education sector and are IREG (International Ranking Expert Group) approved.  Their Top 50 Under 50 list ranks the rising stars of the higher education sector – those under 50 years old.

UTS was established in 1988 and is highly regarded for its research, graduate employability, teaching quality and infrastructure.  It has partnered with more than 150 companies who share their resources and expertise and currently has over 7,000 international students currently undertaking both postgraduate and undergraduate studies.

UOW was established in 1975 and offers over 300 degree programs at the graduate and postgraduate levels and has over 200 international exchange partner universities in 46 countries. UOW was also ranked in the top 100 universities in the QS World University Ranking Graduate Employers Survey due to the real-world experience incorporated into its degrees.

Both institutions are praised by QS for their ability equip their students with practical skills through work integrated learning opportunities built into many of their degrees.

Australia and NSW continue to be “one of the world’s leading destinations for international students. Only the United States and United Kingdom have more institutions in the top 100 of the QS World University Rankings, and they both have significantly larger populations, and, accordingly, far more universities overall” according  to QS.
